Saturday

On Saturday, we went to the Children's Museum, and yet again, play with different things!  As many times as we have been there is still stuff we haven't even touched yet!  Scrabble was fun today!

Even Sam did a little playing with the kitchen stuff!

Then we went on a picnic to Bridges!  Before we left, the girls help me pack the basket that the Brashiers gave us as a wedding gift!

Sam went down a slide for the first time!

After naps, we had tennis time in the yard!  We have everything we need, but a net!

Sam also rode up and down the street in the car!

Miriam came over Saturday evening and played with everyone so we could have a date!  So fun!  Thanks Miriam and Zeb for planning it and working out all the details! Anytime, Miriam--seriously!!

Friday

We hit the ground running...first we celebrated Leigh's birthday with some doughnuts!

And she got to open her presents--which included this new bike!  She may or may not have needed a new bike because I may or may not have run over her trike!

Sam got called a girl 3x this day!  He was in an orange jon jon with animals all over it that the three Henson boys wore with a demin cap--I mean, come on...

We tried hard, yet were unsuccessful at a decent pic!

The black bear was up for a game of beek-a-boo with the girls!

After a lunch at home and naps, Daddy tried to teach Leigh how to ride her bike!

And Sam got some good outdoor time!

Leigh got to pick where we went for dinner and she picked Cock of the Walk--no surprise there!

Happy 3rd Birthday Leigh Leigh

Dear Leigh, It's officially your birthday.  You are very confused because we have been celebrating for 2 weeks now!  You have been saying you are "free cause I got my tennis racquet" for quite a while now!  You are so funny!  Everyone tells us this.  You seem to have a really good sense of humor!  You love to sing and we can't get over how many songs you have memorized!  You definitely can cheer anyone up when they are having a bad day!  You are as stubborn as they come, but I have a feeling this will get under control as you get older.  You are very coordinated and nothing is much of a challenge for you.  You keep big bruises on your legs from constantly trying to keep up with Sara Beth! You are the sweetest thing to your little brother!  You always are checking on him to make sure he is okay.  You have beautiful, although, slightly wild strawberry blonde hair!  You are a great eater!  Especially when a granddaddy is feeding you! You absolutely love olives and pickles!  And you are very photogenic!  I have hundreds of really good pictures of you!  Happy Birthday, sweet girl!  We love you so much!

VACATION!!

We are so very excited about Spring Break!  Zeb works about 24 weekends a year, so it doesn't seem to come around often where he can take 5 days off in a row!  But today thru Monday he is off!!  We thought long and hard about what we wanted to do--originally we were going to rent a cabin and stay for a few days...then, we thought about New Orleans and a few other places.  We decided, though, that what we really needed was rest and some fun, so we are staying home!  We are going to do everything that we do every now and then and cram it in to these few days!  Lots of fun and not much cooking and not much laundry!

Our plans today were to pick Sara Beth up from pajama day at school and go to Mazzios to eat.  Then, we were going home for a nap and to the Natural Science Museum.  That didn't exactly happen because Leigh's ear was hurting.  Last night, Zeb affectionately ran his hand over her head, and she kept telling him he hurt her ear.  We thought this was just a little drama, but this morning she continued to say that her ear hurt and felt like something was in it!  Well, after getting the puss cleaned out by nurse Margaret, we found out she has a ruptured ear drum.  Leigh has been really difficult this last week or so and it was probably in part due to her ear--however, she had no symptoms and never once complained!  Poor little girl!  She's been a trooper, but it still really bothers her!

We did go to Mazzio's, but headed to the doctor afterwards.  The girls both slept over 2 hours so we decided to just play some games the girls got for the birthdays.  To make the evening special, we called My May and Bo Bo to meet us at Fernandos!  It was a fun day!

My May and Bo Bo brought Leigh her birthday presents.  This is a visor so that she can play tennis!  Elizabeth and her family gave it to her--pretty cute!

More Birthday Party Pics

I have put so many pics on our blog over the last couple of years, that I had to buy storage!  Since it's only $5 a year, I figured I could swing for it!  That is why it has taken me so long to add the rest of the pics!

Birthday Party

On Tuesday, we had a party at the park.  The day could not have been any prettier!  The park has sand under the play equipment, so I went with a "sand" theme!  The girls had an absolute blast and enjoyed every second.  Thank you to everyone who came and made the day so special for them!

I am going to have to do two posts because I have so many pictures!

8 months

Dear Sam, Once upon a time there was a little boy named Sam who was a great little napper and a happy little camper.  The end.

The last two weeks have been pretty tough around here.  You have wanted me to hold you ALL day and screamed at me when I put you down.  However, I think maybe yesterday you turned a corner.  You were much happier!  Today your second tooth came through--maybe that had something to do with it--maybe not!  I have given up on you napping.  You nap a short nap when we take your sisters to school and another one when we pick them up.  You and I are both less frustrated since I have given up.  I just move you from room to room and talk to you while I try to get some work down.  Please understand, I have not given up completely-just for now!  When you get older, you will learn to take a good, long afternoon nap!  You sleep great at night--7pm to 6ish am.

You are not crawling.  However, you can roll and squirm anywhere you want to go!  I love to watch you do this--it's really cute and something neither of your sisters did.  You can watch your sisters play for a long time.  You still really like toys and books and bottles, but not so much food.  You LOVE being outside.  That's great because we spend almost all of our time outside--it has been so pretty and it helps keep our house a little neater! ha!

You also really like your Daddy.  You light up when he comes into the room!  That absolutely melts my heart!

We love you!
