Kindergarten goes to the Fire Museum

Last Thursday, the kindergartners went on a field trip to the Fire Museum.  It is always lots of fun and interesting and therefore always a hit!

She loves her teacher so much!

Afterwards, I got them on a high by making firetruck snacks with them.  I did these when I taught second grade and was also able to do them in Sara Beth's class.

P Dub

When I saw the Pioneer Woman was coming to Lemuria, I knew I had to figure out a way to get the girls there (and let's be honest--me too!).  We love watching her shoes on Saturday morning and cooking her food every now and then (it always isn't exactly healthy!)  We got there about an hour early and were at the front of the line!  We passed our hour  by working on catechism, coloring, and reading her new books!

I haven't talked to anyone at the end of the line yet, but at the beginning she was super friendly.  The girls both asked her several questions and she took time to answer them and ask the girls a few also!

I know exactly what the girls will be doing at 9 am tomorrow!

ARRGGHHH Matey

We definitely celebrated National Pirate Day in style.  We started off watching two pirate themed tv shows before heading out to Krispy Kreme to get some free dough-nuts.

Since all things taste better with friends...

and then we spent 1 1/2 hours at the park playing hard

We don't really need a dozen dough-nuts so we found a few people to share them with! I LOVE these two pictures!

I also decided to be very stereotypical and hand a dough-nut and water to the police officer patrolling our street.  I say patrolling--really I think he is just hiding out on a quiet street, but we love him hanging out!

Leigh Leigh

A few weeks ago during the "cooler" weather we got a very rare hour with just Leigh!  We spent it outside riding scooters and then watching Wheel of Fortune!  She's a keeper!

Chillin'

Proud to be sleeping on his Daddy's Dukes of Hazard sheets!

1 st project

Back at the beginning of school, SB had to do a "mini me" project.  Since Leigh and Sam would want to help her I made it easier on myself and just made extra copies.  All three worked very hard.

My favorite though, has to be Sam's.  I am thankful he doesn't have a triangle head and a big orange beak for a nose!

Girl Time

Last weekend, I was able to get away for a few days with three of my dearest friends.  We used go on a weekend trip about once a year, but unfortunately it has been many years since we have been able to do this.  Kristen is 8 months pregnant, so we all headed to Hot Springs to see her!

We didn't exactly go the shortest way to Hot Springs.  We thought it would be fun to go to McCarty and Peters on the way, but we realized it would just take us too long.  We did have time though for a lunch at the Crown Restaurant in Idianola.  (I don't think that name is exactly correct.)  It was delicious!

We talked (minus the few hours that we slept) the ENTIRE weekend!  This is Kristen's balcony view--amazing!  We spent many hours sitting on this porch.

They own the Chick fil A in Hot Springs so we made several trips by there!  It was so great to see JR's store!

We also got a mani, pedi, and a massage--which of course left us so relaxed all we could do was sit on her porch and talk more!

Kristen took us to some great places to eat with fun views!  We didn't spend much time downtown because there was a biker rally going on and it was crazy and loud with motorcycles! Next time we go we will have to shop downtown and actually do a bath house!

They do have the most gigantic Dollar Tree I have ever seen.  Bec and Emily love a good DT so we had to go explore the store!  I found these steaks for $1.  I mean really--meat is so expensive--what cut of meat could possibly be for $1???!!!

I am quite certain we won't wait too long to go again!  Thanks to our husbands who not only held down the fort but also really wanted us to go!
