Catching up

I have so many pictures to post from the last few weeks, so I am going to try to catch up some today.

Here the girls are eating corn from a gas station--yes, you read that correct! Bo Bo (my dad) ordered corn from Inverness and Sara went and picked it up at the Shell in Brandon! Very strange in my opinion--I mean, how do you find out about stuff like that? However, it was some of the best corn I've ever had!

It looks like Leigh is loving it--actually not at all! The cob did feel good to knaw on though!

A friend of a friend was so very kind to GIVE my girls two coups! I've been looking for one for quite a while--and now we have two!!

Maybe we just need one though!
Their new favorite spot to play is under the sink in their bathroom! You should see all the junk they can fit under there!

A quick pic before church

The girls love their new gowns that Honey made for them! My friend Rebecca's little boy, Graham, came for a visit. I had a cute picture of the 3 of them, but SB deleted it accidentally. They had a great time playing! Graham has never seen so much pink in his life! We only had one small accident...
and we have no idea what happened! She screamed like she never has before and it bled for a long time! (She's perfectly fine now!)
And after a change of clothes, the three of them enjoyed a great dinner!

And then some great playtime!

My absolute favorite thing Leigh does now is nod--I just love this video!

Castles and Crowns

I have a Castles and Crowns (www.castlesandcrowns.com) show at my house tomorrow. The clothes are so cute and resonably priced! Come by if you have time! Call if you need directions!

on the way to church...

sara beth: why did God make boogers?

me: ughh?

zeb: God made boogers to keep us from getting so many infections.

(I knew a doctor would come in handy at some point!!)

I finally took Leigh to get her haircut. Now I say- finally-because Zeb has been saying for months that she needed a haircut--I just didn't agree! Well, I see why he said so...she looks much neater now!

She wasn't crazy about the idea and had no intentions of letting go of me. It took a while, and a comb, but she did...and actually started liking it.

Here she is showing off her new cut

And here's SB showing off hers, along with the cookie My May bought her after lunch.
It makes me so sad because SB is getting opinionated (I have no idea where she would get that from!). She wants her hair long--I want it at her chin--I just don't know what to do!

Our Journey which turned into 3 Journeys

We were on our way to Jackson, TN to visit the Davenports last Thursday when we got a call that Aunt Laura was in labor! Good timing for us, so we changed directions and headed to Tupelo!

hanging out waiting on the baby boy

we didn't have to wait long because he came very quickly and a couple weeks early
Reed Chase Henson and the two proud big brothers
12:59 p.m.
19 1/2 inches 7 lbs 6 oz

Then, we headed off to Jackson, TN. Sara Beth was so excited she woke up at 2:30 a.m. ready to go. At 4:30 a.m. I gave her books to read and told her that if she got out of bed again she would get a spanking. At some point, she fell back to sleep.
Speaking of sleep... we haven't had too much of that lately. Jen and I (not really thinking too clearly) decided we would give the girls one hour to fall asleep together. Well, they started off good...

a little later this is what we found...
and this is what they were doing...

Needless, to say it didn't work...and we won't be trying that again for a long time...

They had a great time...
picking up gumballs playing in the sprinkler

dressing up

playing on the stairs... a big no, no
This is the best picture of the four of them

So, what did Jen and I do while the kids were napping and late at night? We sewed, and sewed, and sewed...and these are all the things we made from Thursday night to Saturday morning!

We got home Saturday afternoon around 4 because Zeb had a graduation party that night. Sunday morning we woke up and went to Tupelo. This was Zeb's only chance to see that sweet baby so off we went. Sara Beth could not get enough of him.

Leigh liked him a lot too--she just was a little too rough! Sorry Reed!

After a short (very short) hour and a half in Tupelo, we headed to New Albany for a quick visit with Grandmother. It was great to see her for a while.

Then we headed home...hopefully to stay for a while!

Happy Birthday to the USA

Monday morning is going to be a rude awakening for the Henson family. We have enjoyed 3 WHOLE days with Daddy home! We can really get used to this new job!

sara beth has been badly wanting to share a sucker with leigh--i finally let her
our living room became tent city

everyone had a great time

saturday morning jennifer dryden and i went and walked in the watermelon classic--lots of fun plus it was exercise

leigh really liked my new t-shirt

we are so excited to have the lowry's back in town
sara beth and barnes
leigh and henry getting some swing time in

this morning we had a guest preacher at church. dr. ric cannada preached a really good, thought provoking sermon on "saturation evangelism". I really liked this term that he coined. his sermon was based mainly on deuteronomy 6 where we are told to talk to our kids about God all the time. he encouraged us to saturate our children with the gospel, but always being concerned for their heart. It reminded me a lot of the book shepherding a child's heart by ted tripp. anyway, i would encourage you to go to www.fpcjackson.org and download it.
after naps we took a stroll down the street to visit with mr. and mrs. davis. they are so sweet to visit with the girls. sara beth talks about mrs. davis all the time and would go everyday if i let her.

Notice Leigh and Katie's outfits: hand-me-downs are wonderful! Keep them coming Izzy!

(When I was taking these pictures I told everyone I thought I had a picture of Katie wearing this outfit doing the same thing--Dad thought there was no way! I have a weird memory!)
