Wicked

Two years ago I saw Wicked in New York while Zeb was in a conference.  To say I loved it was an understatement!  I made the comment that I couldn't wait to take the girls to see it!  Well...Zeb remembered and surprised us with tickets in New Orleans in June!  We made a little girls trip out of it!

We left at 6 a.m. and there was no surprise in our first stop-- Cafe du Monde!

We watched them make beignet's  for a bit

before walking around a few stores.

Thankfully the rain held off so we could see some art on the square.

Then we rode the trolley to lunch.

We ate lunch at the Palace Cafe.  I have never eaten there before, but it was so good!  I picked there because they took reservations and the weather "was supposed to be awful"!  It ended up being a pretty day with very little rain.

Then we walked two blocks to the Saenger Theatre for the play.  (We parked right outside the theatre when we got there that morning so we could leave right after the play.  It was nice because we just went to the car to change clothes.)

We listen to a lot of books in the car and all week we had listened to The Wizard of Oz.  The girls had no idea the reason behind listening to it!  I am so glad we did because I think it helped clarify parts of the play.

The girls loved Wicked as much as I do!  All three of us are trying to figure out how we can see it again!

We ate a quick and yummy dinner at Middendorfs on the way home.

Love these two!  Thanks Zeb for the day!  We made lots of memories!!
