Big Boy's Turn
Big Boy was so ready for his turn for school! Let's just say I wasn't exactly the same way! (I just realized I forgot to give him his little sign to hold!)
As soon as we pulled into the parking lot he unbuckled and climbed up front! I love this sweet face!
Super excited about the playground!
He hopped right out of the car. This lady's face is inquisitive because Sam just told her his teacher was "Mrs. Honkins". Also known as Hawkins!
When he got in the car he told me he walked all the way down the long hall straight to his room and his teacher was waiting on him! He also said he did his hat "all by self". As resistant as I am was to send him to preschool I know he is ready and it is going to be a great year!
After school we had an hour before we picked Leigh up so we made a visit to see Doe. We found her in physical therapy. Sam loved helping put away all of her toys.
And he got the best ride back to her room!

Day 1 is in the books
Sniff, sniff...my babies are back in school! Sara Beth started 2nd grade and Leigh kindergarten! They were so excited and ready to go!
We were able to snap a quick pic with our neighbors across the street. Our neighborhood will be a lot quieter now--well, at least until 3:00!
Leigh opening her book and showing it to the class. She brought "Every Cowgirl Goes to School".
First day of Kindergarten
1st day of 2nd grade
Leigh with her teachers Mrs. Hutchinson and
Mrs. Higginbotham
SB with Mrs. Matlock
Sarah and Sara Beth won't know how to handle it when they aren't in class together. They've been together since they were 2!
So...oh...Saturday afternoon I finally got around to thinking about our annual back to school dinner. I guess I didn't think about it because I just wasn't ready for summer to end. I asked the girls what they wanted to eat and they said asparagus and mac and cheese. Z piped in that he would like some oven fried chicken. So, that settled the menu! Since yesterday was a half day, both girls helped a lot with dinner.
And we even had time for some apple art. (Just fyi it is a cute idea that just doesn't work.) The kids had fun making a mess!
After showers Daddy got home from his deacons meeting and we were able to eat a late dinner! Everything below cost $3.50 thanks to free printables online and Office Depot! Definitely a fun and cheap way to celebrate going back to school!
Saw these in Family Fun! Super easy! They used caramels rolled out instead of pretzels so theirs looked neater!
We are ready for a great 2013-2014 school year!

First Pres Family Fun Night
First Pres had a Family Fun Night at the Braves gave last night. We had a blast even though it was super rainy! The rain delayed the game by almost 2 hrs (I think) but it drastically dropped the temps so when the game did start it was very nice! We have had heat indexes of 110 this week, but last night the temperature was 78-80! During the rain everyone just stood under the covered area and visited. It was a fun time to catch up with people and meet a few people we didn't know. The only disappointing thing was that my crew couldn't make it until the fireworks. Thankfully they shot a few during the National Anthem. As far as my kids know, that is all they did! (They didn't ask if there were going to be more--and we didn't tell.) Zeb and I were really looking forward to the fireworks because Leigh announced the other day she had never seen them! At least they have seen a few and hopefully SOON they can see some more! Thanks First Pres! It was lots of fun!

While the girls were away, the boys played...
A big thank you to Zeb, Sandi, and Sara for taking care of Sam while we were gone. He had so much fun being shuffled from person to person.
These are a few pictures that were sent to me over the weekend--I love phones!

American girls, nails, and swimming
We made a quick trip this past weekend to Peachtree City to visit with my sister. First on the list of things to do was to visit the American Girl store. My girls were so excited. They have never been before, but we are definitely all into American Girls these days.
The girls have been saving their money and decided they wanted to buy a new doll. This poor lady was so kind as she counted out $100 two times in all small bills and coins!

Sam didn't go with us so B had to be the lone boy
Next Mom treated us to a tea party! My girls now know about Shirley Temples!
We also managed to celebrate Katie's birthday which is at the end of the month.
I had to take a picture of this. It is a doll hanger in the bathroom! Details, details, details!
All 8 of us load on the golf cart to go eat dinner. (Plus 3 dolls)
On Saturday, we woke up and everyone got their finger and toes painted. The place there will do kids fingers and toes for $5--total. They loved being pampered.
Elizabeth and Clark went to a wedding so Mom and I had the kiddos for the rest of the day and overnight. We went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and playtime. And then hit the pool after rest time! I didn't get a single picture at the pool because I was so caught up in enjoying the cool weather. It was at least 10 degrees cooler over there. Not one time in 3 days did I say or hear the words "I am hot." Coming back here to a heat index of 110 was a rude awakening! (temps there were in the high 80s and low 90s)
